What is true whichever plan you choose.
- Every plan starts with an application. We talk through which one fits with you.
- Roots HQ takes no percentage of your sales.
- Your payment, shipping and email providers bill you directly for their own services.
- You stay the merchant of record, and your customers are your customers.
- Roots HQ provisions and operates your storefront, tracks orders and keeps your business records synchronised. Customer payments are processed through your own connected payment account, and you remain the merchant of record. Roots HQ does not store raw card details.

- Why is there an application?
- Roots HQ is set up around how your business actually sells. The application tells us where you sell and what takes too much of your time, so we can tell you honestly whether it fits and start your setup from your business rather than a blank workspace.
- Which plan is right for me?
- Tell us about your business in the application and we will talk it through with you. Root is the foundation; Branch is for an owner ready to hand more of the repetitive work to Roots HQ; Canopy is for a business with more moving parts to keep connected.
- Does Roots HQ take a cut of my sales?
- No. The plan is a monthly subscription. Card processing, shipping labels and email are billed by your own providers, directly to you.
- Who owns my customers and data?
- You do. You are the merchant of record, your customers are your customers, and you can export your contact list and your sales.
